The contemporary poems Carefree Endlessly and Love Eternal by Gary W. Burns exude inner peace and beauty.
The setting begins with a long quiet introduction that ebbs into a light waving breeze with the strings. The piece starts to move with the robins hurrying about the yard, and closes with the choir floating above determined moving strings with a repetitive chant of “love eternal” over lovely chord changes.
The strings provide ample leading for the voices throughout.

Text from Carefree Endlessly and Love Eternal
Carefree Endlessly
O these days of
The blue-sky-breeze,
Clouds that please,
Butterflies
Sailing carefree
On greenery
And life
Filled to bream
With beauty.
Ah
Carefree
Endlessly . . .
Love Eternal
How wonderful the spring
In which we watched
The early tulips bloom
And the robins
Hurry about the yard
As a late snow
Came down:
Love eternal.
